1. Who we are
ChessStats (chessstats.app) is a personal project providing public FIDE chess player statistics. It is not affiliated with FIDE.
2. Data we collect
ChessStats does not require registration or login. We do not collect personal data from visitors beyond what is automatically recorded by standard server infrastructure:
- IP addresses and HTTP request logs (retained briefly by our hosting provider, Vercel)
- Anonymous usage analytics (pages visited, country, browser — no personal identifiers)
We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or sell any data to third parties.
3. Chess player data
All chess player information displayed on ChessStats (names, ratings, titles, federations) is sourced from FIDE's publicly available monthly rating lists. This data is public by nature and was originally published by FIDE. If you are a chess player and wish to discuss your data, you may contact us at the address below.
4. Cookies
ChessStats uses no advertising or tracking cookies. The site may use essential technical cookies (e.g. for caching) set by Vercel, our hosting provider. No consent banner is currently displayed as no consent-required cookies are used.
5. Third-party services
- Vercel — frontend hosting (United States). Vercel Privacy Policy
- Railway — database hosting (United States). Railway Privacy Policy
6. Your rights
Under GDPR, you have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of any personal data we hold. Since we collect no personal data beyond server logs (which we do not control individually), there is typically nothing to access or delete. For any request, contact us at:privacy@chessstats.app
7. Changes
We may update this policy as the site evolves. The date at the top of this page indicates the last revision.
